Martin McDermott

Project Manager has 20 years of construction experience and has been with Western Construction for 6 years, he attended Oregon State University and has Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Management/Business. Martin has a strong background in large commercial projects and has performed numerous Remodels and Tenant Improvements for clients such as Fred Meyer, ROIC and many local Portland Area Hotels ( Lucia, Westin and Deluxe)


Carter Schaffran

Project Manager and Estimator, After attending Portland State University and working as a Purchasing Agent and Director of Graphics, Carter came on board with Western Construction, and for the past 15 years has been working extensively on projects in the Greater Portland/Vancouver Metro Area and in the Greater Seattle Area. Carter brings over 30+years of experience working in and around the Vancouver/Portland Metro Area and has a built strong alliances and is currently involved with the following projects.


Mike Ogden

As a Key Project Manager, Mike has 15 years’ experience managing commercial construction projects in both the private and public sector building community centers, fire stations, schools and apartment renovations. Mike joined Western Construction's team in 2014 and brings strong skills in project management, budgeting, customer relations and team building. Mike attended ITT Tech and holds an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree.


Bill Simpson

Bill joined Westerns team in 2013 and brings with his talent and knowledge of the hospitality and retail industry. He has been associated with the restaurant and hospitality industries since 1980, providing development, design, construction and facilities services to well-respected, high profile companies. Bill offers his clients a depth of experience and creativity that ensures a successful and quality end product.

Bill understands the need for building lasting relationships and teamwork, meeting client financial objectives, and meeting timelines while providing opportunities for the client to reduce costs. Bill’s experience creates a valuable resource for you and/or your client.


David SzyplinkskI

David recently joined our team as a Senior Project Manager with 30 years of experience in his accomplished construction career.  He has expertise in design/build within the highly competitive residential and commercial building sector.  David is an effective team leader and exceptional communicator with a consultative nature and style,  a keen client assessment aptitude and problem solving ability, along with strong negotiation skills that effectively supports the development, project management, budgeting, customer relations and team management of each project.   

David aggressively identifies opportunities, assists and develops focus to provide the technical business solutions that his client’s projects depend on.  All while developing long lasting client relationships along the way.

David has supported his construction education by attending both Anoka Technical College and Hennepin Technical College for construction management, estimating, and is a skilled third generation tradesman.

PAT BRADY

Joined our team and is brings his knowledge of the commercial sector from ground-up, hospitality, retail, and tenant improvement projects.

Pats background with his clients makes him an ideal project manager because of his capability to stay calm and work though any issues that might arise on a project and resolve it so the client is assured that their project will remain on track.
